Elmer is a **finite element software** for **multiphysical problems** published under open source. Elmer is mainly but not exclusively developed by [[https://www.csc.fi/web/elmer|CSC – IT Center for Science]].

Compile:

git clone -b devel https://github.com/ElmerCSC/elmerfem.git myelmer
cd myelmer/
mkdir build
cd build/
cp /usr/net/src/elmer/build-elmer.sh .
</code>
exchange the location of ELMER_HOME to the either the current directory or wherever you want to have it

export ELMER_HOME=
</code>
and use make to compile elmer
<code bash>
bash build-elmer.sh
make -j16
make install
</code>

The compiled executables can then be found in a directory 9.x within the directory myelmer.
