There will be an update to <del>version 1.7</del>  __version 1.8__ on all of the Institute Clients.
Ubuntu 12.04 contains version 1.6.x, so we will prepare for an update to version <del>1.7.9</del> 1.8.3.

On most of the Windows VMs there already is an compatible version installed.

=== Working copies will be incompatible ===

<del>1.7</del> 1.8 client software can not work with 1.6 or 1.7 working copies and vice versa.
To upgrade a Working copy to version <del>1.7</del> 1.8 just call **''svn upgrade''** in your head directory of the working copy.
This working copy will not be administrable on any client with an older version of svn.
