The DFN offers a portal for videoconferences, presentations and meetings. https://www.conf.dfn.de/

Conferences and meetings are limited to 23 participants, presentations can have unlimited viewers.

Another offer from the RRZE is a Jitsi server: https://jitsi.rrze.fau.de/

RRZE is offering a Jabber/XMPP based chat-server.

The preferred Software used on Institute-Clients is Pidgin.
